Unveiled at Auto Expo 2020
The Volkswagen Polo needs no introduction. It is the go to car for car enthusiasts in a budget since it’s launch way back in 2010. After the launch of premium hatchback Volkswagen started organizing the Volkswagen Motorsports in India. It involves the car based on Polo platform and drivers from our country and neighboring countries can take part in the championship. They also provide training to the drivers before entering the circuit. In 2010 when they started this one make championship in India after Delhi Auto Expo it becomes first racing series with Diesel powered cars in it. Obviously Race Polo is the main attraction of this series. After two years in 2012, they give a new heart to the car. The TSI petrol engine with DSG gearbox for that extra performance racers need. In 2014 Vento also featured in the championship. In 2015 they introduced Race Vento as well. A racing saloon – Interesting ? With more power, cars change in tyres the cars wear they make better cars year by year. Volkswagen is also organizing the event in 2020. And for this they introduced New Race Polo at Auto Expo 2020. The last time the Polo Cup was held was in 2014. In 2015, the champioship was passed on to the Vento Cup before the Ameo Cup was introduced in 2017. So it’s important to make some changes to the car for Polo Cup 2020. There are new specifications for the car. It now makes 210hp as compared to 205hp of previous Race Ameo. Volkswagen has yet another trick – drivers will now have a 20hp ‘push-to-pass’ boost for overtaking and defending. It has improved dynamics and handling package with reworked chasis and suspension. And that’s it for Race Polo because it’s not a Road spec car so there is no need to unveil every dimensions and all that. But it is an interesting car.
